About Therapy
Sometimes life can be difficult and you may need some extra support or maybe just a place to go where you can be heard. Maybe you are fighting more with your loved ones? Are family interactions becoming more and more tense? Perhaps it’s the relationship with yourself that you would like to improve. Are you always thinking the worst about yourself? Would you like to improve your self-esteem? Do you want to say how you really feel becoming more assertive, confident and comfortable in your own skin? It might be past traumatic events that you keep replaying over and over in your mind and as a result are disrupting your everyday life. Whether it is anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement or something else counselling and psychotherapy can help you make positive changes and become more empowered.
How Can Counselling Help Me?
It is often difficult to open up and reveal what is bothering us and sometimes we don’t even know, we just know that something isn’t right. Maybe you know what is causing your distress but you can’t seem to find a way out or you are in a self-destructive loop. Together in therapy we can discuss your options and the blocks that are preventing you from making the necessary changes.
Counselling and psychotherapy is an opportunity for you to discuss and explore any issues, stresses or anxieties in your life with an experienced therapist. Through counselling, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and work together with the aim of uncovering the root cause for your distress. Through a deeper understanding of what the root cause of your problem is, we can work towards finding better ways for you to cope and to ease the pain and distress, allowing change with lasting results, helping you to move forward with your life.
Our therapy sessions are an opportunity for you to be listened to and to really understand what is important to you, in a confidential and non-judgmental space. I believe that building a trusting relationship between me the therapist and you the client is key to successful work together. I appreciate that it can be a difficult step to take so we will work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Contact me to arrange a 20 minute telephone call where you can find out more.
